There was ONLY ONE Church [Ephesians 4:5] present in the world the first 1054 years of Christianity and this is a historical fact. The knowledge about Iera Paradosis (Holy Tradition) is knowledge that is discribed about in the Holy Bible by our Christians Saints ancestors who wrote it and delivered it to us!
In the beginning of the creation of the Church and in the ABSENCE of the Holy Bible, Christians went to Church through Faith alone they were baptized (were redeemed from sin entirely through the Holy Sacrament of Baptism) and became Saints by attracting the Grace of God through obeying all of His evangelical commandments and by participating at the same time in the Holy Sacraments of the Church as delivered by the Apostles begotten the day of Pentecost through the Holy Spirit. This dual responsibility of obedience of each Christian person is known by the Holy Fathers as Divine Life.
The up keeping in our daily lives of all of the Evangelical commandments and the participation with honesty in all of the Holy Sacraments of the Church where Lord Jesus is present as the SOURCE in His BODY the Church (Α Colossians 1:18) is the redeeming ~way of Life~ that describes Divine Life. In the beginning of Christianity (the first 60 years) and in the absence of the Holy Bible, Salvation was/is possible by Divine Life alone.
No education or the ability to read was ever needed for Salvation but the up keeping of Divine life alone. After Baptism, Salvation can be sustained/achieved by the participation to 1 Divine Thanks, 2 Confession, 3 Holy Communion, 4 Fasting and 5 Prayer. None of these duties require any kind of education, it is a matter of fact that a person need not even be able to read! (Could the Lord be any fairer for all? You see the Church was never about knowledge but about SIN. This is why everybody can participate ON EQUAL TERMS) !
The reason the Church was able to immediately start to produce Saints, was because of the presence of the ~Life Saving Sin Redeeming Holy Sacraments~ that imply the direct Personal involvement of resurrected Goodman Lord Jesus (God Logos) present in His Church as the Supreme Height Priest (Hebrew 5:5) and a mediator to His Father. [John 10.9] “I am the door: by me if any men enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture”.
Everything delivered by the Apostles for the Salvation of man was given the name “Paradosis” which derives from the Greek verb “paradono” which means TO PERSONALLY HAND DOWN OR DELIVER. In his first letter to the [Corinthians 11.2] Paul is praising his fellow brother Christians because they remember him in everything and for keeping sound and unchanged the teachings as he hand delivered (paradosis) to them by word. “Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you”.
This Greek word “paradosis” was unfortunately replaced (translated) by Bible scholars (in versions of the Holy Bible ) for new “churches” showing up in violation of [Ephesians 4:5] after the schism in 1054 AC with the word “Tradition” which means “something that is usually done” that DOES NOT represent (explain) the real meaning of the original Greek word Paradosis that is found in the original Greek script in the Holy Bible.
The Greek word Paradosis
The Greek word Paradosis means “lesson, to transfer, and or to personally deliver something”. The word Paradosis implies without question that the Holy Tradition of the Church was handed down by the Apostles personally (person to person) which makes this knowledge unquestionably very specific. In his letters to Thessalonians, to the Corinthians and the Philippians Paul is addressing his fellow Christians as the FOUNDER of their Church and not as a plain fellow Christian. As one of the founders of the Christian Church he continuously stresses out the IMPORTANCE of following strictly Holy Tradition (Iera Paradosis) “what the Apostles preached, and the Church received” for this knowledge was the indisputable Divine begotten WILL of God for the Salvation of man.
VERSES in Holy Bible about IERA PARADOSIS (Holy Tradition).
Again, please keep in mind as you read that: The Greek word “Paradosis” mentioned in these following 3 verses in his letters to the Thessalonians, the Corinthians, and the Philippians which mean “what the apostles preached and the Church received”, was taken out and replaced in various English versions of the Holy Bible (unknown to the Apostles and the Church) with similar words that FAIL to ACCENT on the real reason of the praise of the Apostle which was a praise for the correct up keeping for Salvation Truth/Law of “what the Apostles preached and the Church received”.
1) Ιn [2 Thessal 2:15] the Greek word Paradodis (what the apostles preached and the Church received) was replaced with the word “truth”. “So then, our brothers and sisters stand firm and hold on to those “truths” which we taught you, both in our preaching and in our letter.”
a) It should be obvious here, that word “truth” does not imply to Church knowledge that is very specific, but to knowledge that is commonly known and accepted by all,”
b) The word “truth’ fails to inform the reader that this knowledge (the truth) was personally delivered (paradosis) by Paul himself,
c) The word “truth” fails to inform the Bible scholar that the “truth” Paul is referring to was the Divine begotten
WILL of God passed down to the Apostles the day of Pentecost who in turn personally delivered it (Paradono) to the Church for the Salvation of man.
2) In [1 Corinth 11:2] the word Paradosis is replaced with the word “teachings”. “I praise you because you always remember me and follow the “teachings” that I have handed on to you.
a) If the “teachings” that Paul is referring to in this verse do not refer “point out” to the Paradosis “he preached and the Church had received” and do not refer to Bible teachings because the Holy Bible was nowhere to be found yet, where are these teachings referring to? The answer is found in the miss translated word from the original Greek scripts which Paradosis “What the apostles preached and the Church received”
3) [Phillip. 4:9] “Put into practice what you “learnt” and “received” from me, both from my words and from my actions”. Again in this verse the word Paradosis was replaced by the words “learnt” and “received” concealing in this way that the knowledge talked about here was personally hand delivered by Paul and the fact that it was very specific. (what the Apostles preached and the Church received)
a) The verse in [Phillip. 4:9] starts with the words “put into practice” and it finishes with “what you
learnt and received from me, both from my words and from my actions”. Isn’t the verse secretly but loudly describing the presence of the Greek word “Paradosis” that was taken out meaning “what was hand delivered by the Apostles and was received by the Church”?
b) Do the words “put into practice” and “what you learnt and received from me” indicate the fact that all his teachings about “the way of doing things” for the Salvation of man (Holy Tradition) were practices that were followed by all of the Apostles who were sent out to create Churches everywhere around the word? Does the verse in Philip 4:9 inform the scholar that Paul’s statement indicates very specific directions begotten from “what the apostles preached and the Church received”?
in the above 3 verses we have just studied how Paul gives the Church encouragement and praise by letter for up keeping correctly Iera Paradosis (Holy Tradition) concerning the WILL of God as to Church practices for the Salvation of man. The WILL of God as to the creation of his Church was begotten ONCE AND FOR ALL TIMES the day of Pentecost. [Acts 2:3,4] 3)“And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them”. 4) “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance”.
Iera Paradosis (Holy Tradition)
The gift of speaking in tongs is usually what impresses people…If the Apostles were to go around the world in order to create Churches; they had the need to be able to speak the language first! This in reality was one of the smallest of the gifts. The greatest gift to mankind was the creation of His Church were man could redeem their self from SIN beginning with the Holy Sacrament of Baptism, and escape from what is known as the most horrible death which is the spiritual death that in essence describes the Eternal Separation of Man from God!
The “rules” that they were to create Churches with were received that same day of Pentecost and were given the name –cannons- There are 85 Holy Cannons that are present from the beginning of the creation of His Church. These are the cannons (rules) that the Orthodox have been following unchanged from the beginning of the creation of His Church.
What is Canon Law?
Although generally referred to as canon law, such a name given to the Church’s law suggests a parallel to secular law. It would be more correct to call it the tradition of the holy canons, since they are the object of its concern.
The first cannon specifies “How to ordain Bishop”, followed by the second how to ordain his helpers the Presbyter deacons and clergymen followed of course with how to prepare Holy Communion. In [John 6:54] we are informed of the importance of Holy Communion. “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day”.
In the Greek Orthodox Church we know Holy Communion as the “medicine of immortality” it is the essence the blood and body of our Lord that ~remakes man to” Goodman by the Grace of God~ an anaplasis of man by Lord Jesus to a new creation.
[Colossians 3 10] “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him”:
[Ephesians 4:23-24] 23 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”. Becoming a new creation is also known as being Holy (1 Peter 1,16) a New Adam, the Overcoming of mortality, Salvation and being “a god by the grace of God”. All of these conditions describe the return of man back to the presence of his creator God.
The benefits of Christians in obeying Iera Paradosi and the Cannons of His Church
“The Holy Cannons ensure mans freedom, they were set forth to free man from his biggest tyranny that is sin, and they are aimed to set man free from his biggest tyrant who is the devil”.
Most of the apostles became Bishops in his Church in order to keep being of service to their beloved Lord after he had ascended to His Father. The word Ecclesia (Church) is found in the original Holy Bible that was written in Greek 105 times! Lazarus the resurrected friend of Lord Jesus was a Cyprus Bishop here for 33 years after he was resurrected. The Church of Cyprus was the 2nd Christian Church created by the apostles after the one in Jerusalem (Acts 13:4-5). Lazarus never did smile while a Bishop here because as he would say being in Hades was most horrible and he would continue by saying “no one being in Hades can ever smile again” You see my friends the first time he died there was no Church no redeeming Holy sacraments to SAVE him from death (spiritual death)

Apostolic succession is the tracing of a direct line of apostolic ordination, Orthodox doctrine, and communion from the Apostles to the current episcopacy of the Orthodox Church. All three elements are constitutive of apostolic succession.http://orthodoxwiki.org/Apostolic_succession
