Holy Kara (head) Ap. Luke.jpg

This is the Holy Kara (head) of Apostle Luke

Lord Jesus did not come to bring a new morality or a philosophy on earth. He brought a Holy Tradition (Church Tr.) through which man is -REMADE- by Gods Grace to –A NEW KIND OF A HUMAN BEING – never known or seen on earth or heaven before… A NEW CREATION!

[Colossians 3 10] “And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him”:

[Ephesians 4:23-24]   23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Man has a divine inheritance Church (Body of Christ) created by the Apostles through the Holy Spirit the day of Pentecost, and a divine destination (becoming Holy [1 Peter 1, 16] “Be Holy because I am Holy ”

The coming of Lord Jesus introduced into mankind a New Creation (a new kind of human being) for Lord Jesus himself was the first one, He was conceived by the Holy Sprit and -Mary His mother while remaining a virgin. Lord Jesus is a New Creation (godman) known to His Church as the new Adam consisting of 2 natures. The divine nature God Logos (Truth Spoken Words) and His human one. God Logos, who is the second Person in the Holy Triad, is a Godman by nature in this way.

The purpose of the creation of His Church by the Apostles through the Holy Spirit the day of Pentecost was in order to enable Lord Jesus to preside eternally as High Priest [Hebrews 5:5], in order to serve man to also becoming a godmen but “by the Grace of God”. [2 Corinthians 5 :17] “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature”:

Becoming a new creation is a supernatural condition that testifies to union with God known as being Holy. (Peter 1, 16) “Be Holy because I am Holy”.

Before the coming of Lord Jesus and in the absence of the Church it was impossible for man to know God personally, to see God and live. In [Exodus 33:20] we are informed why. “And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

The philanthropist God, delivered His only begotten Son (God Logos) not to only teach, but to die on the Cross, defeat death as a man, become -the first born- from the dead (spiritual dead) in order to then become the -head of His Body the Church- where man could receive -the Therapy needed- thru His Holy Sacraments to exceed their human nature to be recreated by Lord Jesus (Go Logos) to Holy a condition known as NEW CREATION New Adam the overcoming of mortality and ETERNAL LIFE.

[Colossians 1:18] “And he is the head of the body, the church:who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” So in simple words, God (God Logos) became man in order for man to become –god- (Saint) but with the Grace of God. The term “spiritual death “is an Ecclesiastic term describing -the Eternal Separation of Man from God-!

This is how Paul describes His personal experience, as being a new creation. [Gal 2:20] “So that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me” Paul admits that God (Christ) lives in him, making him this way a god-man by His Grace, a way of being never seen on heaven or earth before. [Galatians 6:15] “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature”.

In [Galatians 1:16] we are also informed that it was no human (flesh and blood) who gave him his mission who revealed His Son to him. “To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood”:

This is the reason why the Holy Fathers say that the heavenly Kingdom is NOT a “place” it is “a way of being” a UNION of man with God Creator Himself, begotten and experienced from this here life. [Luke 17:21] No one will say, “Look here it is”! Or, “There it is!” because the Kingdom of God is within you”. This is how the Apostles and the Saints did/do their miracles…it is not man that does them it is the God (Holy Spirit) within!

In [John 17:3] “And eternal life means knowing you, the only true God, and knowing Jesus Christ, whom you send” notice here please the words –KNOWING YOU- do not mean to know Lord Jesus philosophically as by reading about Him in the Holy Bible alone but it means: KNOWING YOU PERSONALLY!

St. Symeon the New Theologian Greek Orthodox Church.                                                              The vision of Divine Light                                                                                                                          “It is me, God, Who became man for you; and behold that I have made you, as you see, and shall make you god”.

To know Him personally, means first Union -WITH Him BY Him- through His Holy Sacraments starting with Baptism. [Galatians 3:27] “You were baptized into union with Christ, and now you are clothed, with the life of Christ himself” Baptism unites man with his Creator God, by restoring man to Gods likeness, (Holy) granting him this way the opportunity here on earth to achieve immortality, a life that is eternal, otherwise known as ETERNAL LIFE. In order to be united with Christ this way (union with God/Salvation) there were special canons/rules delivered by the Holy Spirit to the Apostles the day of Pentecost known as the 85 Holy Apostolic canons that would enable Lord Jesus to be High priest and Mediator to His Father in his Body the Church [Α Colossians 1:18] for the Salvation of each and every one individually! [Hebrews 5:5] “Christ did not take the honour of being High Priest by Himself. God Himself gave this honour to Him. You will be a priest forever in the priestly order of Melchizedek”.

Ierotheos Metropolitan of Naufpaktos about Baptism. “Through the “rite of birth in God”, holy baptism, man’s nous is illuminated, freed from slavery to sin and the devil, and is united with God. That is why baptism is called illumination. But after that, because of sin, the nous is again darkened and deadened. The patristic writings make it clear that every sin and every passion deadens the nous”.

Once man is restored to Gods likeness the spiritual life needed to embrace theosis (holiness) is in no need of any special intelligence or education at all. It is known as Divine Life. It is the conforming of our conduct to the requirements of new virtues and a spiritual life also known as newness of life.

[Romans 6.4] “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”.

Divine Life

The keeping in our daily lives of all of the Evangelical commandments 2 and our participation with honesty in all of the Holy Sacraments of the Church is the redeeming way of Life that describes Divine Life. In the beginning of Christianity (the first 60 years) and in the absence of the Holy Bible, Salvation was/is possible by Divine Life alone.

No education or the ability to read was ever needed for Salvation. After Baptism, Salvation can be sustained/achieved by the participation to 1 Divine Thanks, 2 Confession, 3 Holy Communion, 4 Fasting and 5 Prayer. According to Church Tradition Saint Clement (Philippians 4:3) who sighted the Holy Cannons by sighing the last 85th one, is the Saint who informed us that the 85 Holy Cannons that the Apostles used in order to create Christian Churches around the world were written by Paul and Peter who are seen in His Churches to hold His Church in icons. The word Ecclesia “Church” is in the Holy Bible 104 times! These are the canons (rules) received by the Apostles the day of Pentecost by which the Apostles who became Bishops created his Churches (Ecclesia) everywhere they went around the world. [http://www.holytrinitymission.org/books/english/cannons_apostles_rudder.htm]

The Holy Cannons provide man’s freedom for they work in order to aid man to be delivered from Sin, and at the same time they liberate him from his greatest tyrant the devil. Most of the Apostles like Lazarus who loved Lord Jesus dearly became Bishops in order to serve His Church after His ascension.

The Therapy of the Church is concentrated on the heart/soul. It is the part (it is a person) that leaves the body after death that is the center of man’s psychosomatic self… that is  ill begotten and in need of therapy.  [Matthew 15-19] “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies”:

Furthermore Vainglory, selfishness, jealousy, hatred, murder, lustfulness, gastritis, stinginess, are all PASSIONS “adopted” by he heart that FORCE man (the mind) in a un natural acts that are known as SIN. In [Mathew 5:8] we are informed that the pure heart is the main precondition in being able to see/know God. “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”

To be Holy is not a moral or an ethical term, it is an ontological transformation verifiable on the Remains of Saints after death and after exhuming the body!.

Holy Remains

It is an 2000 year old Orthodox Monastic Tradition worldwide, to exhume the monks’ bodies 5 years after their death. Their remains are then placed in special charnel houses and at the same time the Monastery monks are given the chance to establish first hand if their brother monk brings signs of Holiness on his remain. In reality what they are looking to ascertain is: 2) Whether the remain (the bones) have acquired a honey- gold color, 3) Ascertain if a distinct beautiful scent (aroma) ascends from the monk’s relic. 4) In some cases (that are not rare) like in the case of Saint Demetrios the “fragrant” who lived the 3rd century, His Holy Remains gush out a semi liquid aromatic unction that looks like honey. Every year the 3rd of November, the delegation of His Temple in  Thessalonica Greece, opens His reliquary (that is permanently located in the Church), in order to gather from the Holy Remain His unction on cotton balls, so that the faithful ones can keep them as a special blessing. 5) It is well known among Christians of the Orthodox Church, that the Holy Remains (and the unction) are known to cure even the most incurable diseases and illnesses. The Holy Fathers of the Orthodox Church explain that the Gold and Aromatic Remains of a monk are signs of holiness, that are begotten as a result of an actual physical transformation or a metamorphosis that is ontological that takes place during the monk’s natural life. The Holy Fathers explain that this metamorphosis constitutes the needed proof that during the monk’s natural life he managed to become a “vessel” of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Fathers resemble the transformed Holy Remains of the monk with an iron that has become incandescent (transformed) after being put to the fire. Even thought the iron returns to what it seems to be its natural form and shape after being placed in the fire, a close examination reveals a change of colon and the presence of a powder like residue.

This is the reason why the term Saint is not a moral (ethical) term in Orthodoxy, but an ontological (physical) one that is verifiable. The glory found on holy remains is a prefiguration of this new glorified way of being (holiness) of the body. Upon visiting Saint Nicolaos (Santa Clause! ) resting place [http://obitel-minsk.by/_oid100025155.html],who was a 3rd century Bishop of the original Church created by the Apostles, nun Juliania Denissova writes. “The most important thing for me was that the Lord allowed me to see the wonderful signs of God’s presence on Earth with my own eyes and to learn something from it”. The relics of St Nicholas were a genuine window to the Eternity for me. She goes on and she writes: Myrrh, which is a supernatural, wonderworking and fragrant liquid, flows out from the relics of St. Nicholas even up to the present day.

Such trips are sometimes necessary not only for consolation but also to let a person have the chance to think over what is going on inside his heart as he stands face to face with the saint”.

The Church has kept the Holy Remains of her Saints from the very beginning of her creation, and the fact that she is custody today of Holy Remains of even the Apostles, prove the “age» of this Church Tradition http://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2010/01/incorrupt-right-hand-of-st-john-baptist.html

In the history told on the above web side we can see how Apostle Luke is involved in the delivery of the arm (Holy Remains) of John the Baptist.

Talking of Apostle Luke, I must mention the fact that it is known by the Church that he was a doctor. Along with being a doctor he was also known to be the Churches first iconographer. The story in the following the web page also tells us where his Holy Remains are found today.   http://orthodoxwiki.org/Apostle_Luke

The Grace of God that sanctifies the holy remains with aroma is mentioned in the Holy Bible in (2 Corinthians 2: 14, 15). 14. “We owe thanks to God, because while he wins and while being triumphant, he always carries us all about in his triumph as deacons of his victory that takes place for Christ and his gospel”. 15. “Because we the apostles and the preachers of the gospel are indeed the scent of Christ that is pleasing to God˙ a scent amongst those who are saved and also amongst those who are sentenced to eternal loss”.

The same –Grace- is known to be transmitted through various objects (f.i. clothing and other objects) that come into contact with the bodies of Saints resulting to miracle making. (Matthew 20, 22), 20. “And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment”: 21. “For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole”. 22 “But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour”. Oil was also used to removed demons and cure men and women by anointing them with it. (Mark 6:13) “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.” They also cured the ill by using handkerchiefs or aprons. (Acts 19:12) “So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.”

In order for God to protect the monk from arrogance or protect him (or her) from other people that might want to harm him because of jealousy, allows the rest of us to see this metamorphosis (the signs of Sainthood) after death and after we exhume the body.

The most significant event that is EVER going to take place after His Second Coming and after Resurrection will be the ASCENSION of our Lord Jesus with His Saints to the Heavenly Jerusalem prepared by God before creation for those who became worthy.

(Revelation 21:10) “And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God”. In the Holy city of Jerusalem, there is going to be no need for the presence of a sun and there is going to be no need for a Church for Lord Jesus (God Logos) will be eternally present as Height Priest and a King in the order of Melxisedec. Divine Liturgy (and Divine Thanks) as delivered by the Apostles will be a part of the lives of the Saints just like it has been a part of their lives always. The Saints who became “gods by the Grace of God” with live along with Lord Jesus who is God by nature in a relationship that is best described as one of a royal FAMILY.

(Luke 22:30) “That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel”.

A Word About Church History   [the Church as described in Ephesians 4, 5 cannot possibly be more than ONE Church! “One Church One Faith One Baptism]”

Scholars estimate there are over 2600 groups today who lay claim to being the Church, or at least the direct descendants of the Church described in the New Testament. Repeat: 2600! But for the first thousand years of her history the Church was essentially one. Five historic Patriarchal centers Jerusalem; Antioch, Rome, Alexandria, and Constantinople formed a cohesive whole and were in full communion with each other. There were occasional heretical or schismatic groups going their own way, to be sure; but the Church was unified until the 11th century. Then, in events culminating in A.D.1054, the Roman Patriarch pulled away from the other four, pursuing his long-developing claim of universal headship of the Church in violation of [Ephesians 4:5] that specifically points out ONE CHURCH for the Salvation of man. Today, nearly a thousand years later, the other four Patriarchates remain intact, in full communion, maintaining that the Greek Orthodox apostolic faith of the inspired New Testament record which is the Orthodox Church and her history as described herein, from Pentecost to the present day.

Colombo did not discover America

The ancient Christian Church of the Apostles was present in America 1000 years before Colombo “discovered” her!

CBS TV -60 Minutes- went to Mount Athos Thessalonica. See what they have discovered

Mount Sinai where Moses got the Ten Commandments is an Greek Orthodox Monastery

The cave of the Apocalypse (Orthodox Divine Liturgy takes place there twice a day)!

His Church is His Divine Body and not an organization. In [A Colossians 1:18] we read that “He is the source” of His body meaning that after UNION with Him (God Logos) at Baptism being High Priest is the reason everything promised in the Holy Bible (Salvation/theosis) can come true.

[Α Colossians 1:18] “He is the head of his body, the Church; He is the source of the body’s life”.

The word Ekklisia (Church) is found in the original Greek scripts of the Holy Bible 105 times!

Lord Jesus did not come to teach philosophically but THERAPEUTICALLY (to cure man from sin)

God bless,                                                                                                                                                      Your friend and servant
